WC2011 We can do it... bowlers have to come to the party

Not referring to the IPL bash, wish those parties had never happened, our bowlers have to perform if we want to realize this dream. Indian team cannot lift the world cup on one shoulder, no doubt we are one of the best batting sides in the world but that hasn't been enough since 1983.
Although we did win T20 world cup three years ago. But if we analyze bowlers had a major contribution in achieving that, we(Indians) love our batsmen but the fact remains our bowlers won us our maiden T20 world cup title. Irfan and RP Singh bowling in tandem, taking wickets at crucial stages was the reason, also bowlers holding their nerves at the last moments and pressure situations helped India to glory.

This time world cup will be played on Asian wickets, spinners have a bigger role to play. Though we have lots of part timers and so called all rounders who can bowl and bat equally well but still I think we should not abide the decision of keeping them in the playing eleven and going with one less specialist bowler. MS has got a great instinct and a thinking brain when it comes to using the part timers but I would rather be happy to see five specialist bowlers and still making use of part timers instead of making it an obligation. Going with four bowlers paralyzes the bowling attack when one of them is having a bad day. There is no point of letting the opposition score a hefty 350 and hoping the seventh batsman will make the difference that rarely happens.

Bowlers will have to play their part and play it well. The way we are playing is gr8 but we have to keep a surprise element and that should be our bowlers, they have to come up with something special, we often see our batsmen change the course of entire match with there might would love to see bowlers do the same more often especially in the ODIs.

That's me signing off with my fundasss...
